Landing Bee – Summer 2011
It took me ages to capture this one. Unfortunately bees do not fly in a predictable flight path and are constantly “buzzing” in and out behind the flower heads.
So again I just had to wait for one to pass in front of the camera viewfinder to capture it.
One of my few attempts at “macro” …. exposure settings – iso400, t1600, f4.o (subject distance 0.4m, lens focal length 105mm)

Absolutely spectacular! It was well worth the wait! The colors are stunning as well. I just love the little guy with his “landing gear” down! Great post, Jim!

Thanks Judy. I really like this one also.
As I was so close, I could smell the scent of the lavender, while capturing this image.

Oh now you had to tell me that! I adore lavender! 😉
That just adds to the appeal of this photo! I’ve killed my share of lavender. Going to try again this summer!

Thanks Joanna. It was one of those relaxing, unusual, warm summer days in Scotland

Hi Risto, Many thanks. I do become totally absorbed when making images allowing me to “live in the moment”
